Rory is a brilliant, bookish high school student who breaks out of her shell over the course of the show and attends Yale. Together, they make the Gilmore Girls! The show follows Lorelai's and Rory's lives in Stars Hallow as well as Rory's adventures at her prep school Chilton and Yale. It also shows them having two separate lives almost, one in the small town of Stars Hallow and the other in Hartford where they are part of the socialite scene since Lorelai's parents, Emily and Richard, are extremely rich. Throughout, they learn to navigate their daily-life and relationship problems as well as making friendships that will last a lifetime.
