Veronica Mars is a junior in high school as well as a private detective on the side in Neptune, a town split between the wealthy and the not-so-wealthy. Now, her life is split between before Lilly's death and after Lilly's death. Her life after consists of her being the school pariah and her dad Keith being hated by the town. However, Veronica doesn't care because she's hard at work solving her cases, trying to leave Neptune as soon as possible.

Lisamentary:

I started watching Veronica Mars one weekend during winter break on a whim, and from the very first episode, I was hooked!! There are so many aspects to show that makes it incredibly fun to watch and here they are:

1. Veronica

Enough said. Veronica is the main character this show, and she's one of my favorite characters of all time because she's witty, intelligent, and can come up with a comeback that'll burn you like no other. Also, let's no forget that she's a teenage detective! How cool is that? She goes around solving cool crimes, while solving with usual teenage drama! Even better, she's a strong heroine who is a proponent for woman-kind.

2. LOGAN!

He's probably my favorite character on this show (sorry, Veronica). He's just simply great! Well, in the beginning of season one, he was a really big jerk, and I actually didn't like him all too much. However, after that scene with the belt and his father (it gave me the chills), I just couldn't help but feel for Logan--and Veronica couldn't long after too. Other than him being a big softy inside, Logan is a perfect match for Veronica in terms of snark and comebacks because he can handle the best of them. One thing that I'll never forget about Logan is his voicemails. They were so inspirational yet weirdly funny at the same time for reason.

Also, Logan had some great one-liners!

3. LoVe

If you don't know what that is, it's Logan + Veronica = LoVe. How perfect is that? Logan and Veronica must have had one of the best romances ever because they always kept each other on their toes and had fun. Their romance wasn't overly idealized with them having to experience many rough patches. (SPOILER: They didn't even end up with each other when the show ended.) Nevertheless, you know their romance is one for the books.

4. All of Veronica's friends (and other secondary characters)

No matter what the situation we know Wallace and Mac would always be there to help Veronica out and bail her out if necessary. These people have this loyalty and humor that is unrivaled, and Veronica is lucky to have them as friends. However, they're just not Veronica's sidekicks, Wallace and Mac. They're their own person with individual love lives, extracurriculars, and families that we all get a glimpse of too. It's impossible, I'd say, to love Veronica and not love Wallace and Mac. They're the best!

As for Weevil, even though they may not always be on the same side, Weevil is a guy who's rough around the edges but at the end of the day, we all know that he's a good guy.

Then there's Dick. He's really weird and really into parties and drugs and sounds like an airhead most of the. However, I think he's necessary for comic relief. And every once in a million years, he comes up with something very profound. It's mind-boggling.

5. The great father-daughter relationship

If there were a list of the best father-daughter duos, there's no doubt that Keith and Veronica Mars would be on the list. Her dad always taught her to do the right thing and stick with your guns even if it's not the popular thing to do. Also, he taught her about loyalty and loving people in spite of their faults. All along the way, Veronica's dad has always been supportive of his little girl while watching over her to make sure she's safe. When it comes down to it, he's not afraid to make the tough calls. Overall, Keith is a great detective and even better dad!

6.  Everything else

Beyond that, the character and plot development on this show is incredible. All the characters had depth and were either lovable and undoubtedly hated because they all made you feel. This show captures its watchers with the plot that has weekly case and one huge mystery to resolved over the course of a season. I love mysteries and crime, and these ones are always interesting. However, it makes the watchers fall in love through the characters. Everyone is sarcastic and snarky all in a good way and always gave you laughs to accompany the dark humor of the show. Watch out! Some parts (people) are a bit crazy!

Furthermore, you learn so many new lingos on the show. Did you know what a "coconut" is? Most would say it's a fruit, it's actually a Latino who's brown on the outside but white on the inside. Kind of like a Twinkie or Oreo. Clever, right?

Also, there are a bunch of pop culture references that make this show that much more relatable.

The greatest tragedy of this show is that it is only three seasons long. Luckily, a movie was made but that's not enough. I sincerely wished it was longer, and I hope Rob Thomas (creator) and Kristen Bell do come through with their plans to do a Netflix series or something of that sort to extend the show.

There's no other show like this on TV, past or present. Don't miss out. Even though it'll hurt when it ends, it'll be all worth it. It's like the quote says, "It's better to have loved and lost than to have never loved at all." That's Veronica Mars for me.

Enjoy!!!
Characters:

Veronica Mars: Veronica doubles as a high schooler and private detective. She is very smart and sassy. Even though she looks like a typical cheerleader, Veronica is just the opposite.

Logan Echolls: Logan is the Lilly's boyfriend before she does and blames Veronica for her death, which is why he bullies her. He is part of the 09ers (rich, beautiful people clique) and is the bad boy. He is very sarcastic and jaded but is super funny as well. Also, he's a marshmallow too!

Duncan Kane: Duncan was Veronica's ex-boyfriend, Lilly's brother, and Logan's best friend. He is depressed and doesn't show it. He is Neptune's golden boy, part of to 09ers and very rich.

Wallace Fennel: Wallace Fennel is the new kid in town and comes to Veronica's best friend. He's a very loyal sidekick and often helps Veronica out without asking question. He works as an office aide, which gives Veronica a lot of access. He is also into girls and basketball.

Keith Mars: Keith Mars is Veronica's dad and now a private investigator. He lost his job as sheriff after accusing Jake Kane of murdering his daughter. As a result of this, his wife, Veronica's mom, left them too.

Eli "Weevil" Navarro: Eli is part of the PCH bikers. He is involved in gang activity and wants to drop out of high school but stays for his grandmother. He's a typical criminal with a soft heart.

Cindy "Mac" Mackenize: Mac is one Veronica's closest friends after Lilly's death. Mac is a genius computer hacker who helps Veronica out on her cases. She's very sassy and funny in her own way.

Dick Casablancas: Dick is one of Logan's best friend and one of the 09ers. He's a party boy and just likes to have fun. Most of the time, he acts like a dumb blonde, but every once in a while, he says something pretty smart.

Don Lamb: Don Lamb is the new sheriff who replaced Keith after he got fired. He has a bias for the rich people of Neptune and doesn't care much for carrying out his responsibilities. He and Veronica have a hate-hate relationship, as they are constantly antagonistic towards each other.

Lilly Kane: Lilly Kane was Duncan's older sister and Veronica's best friend. Before she was murdered, she was dating Logan. Lilly was fun, carefree, adventurous, and a bit of a troublemaker.
